Non-Degree Graduate Status

Enrollment in the  Division of Continuing and International Education includes students who are not seeking a degree at the University of Miami and meet the criteria below:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa holder
    • Non-degree seeking students do not qualify for student visas
  • Classes approved by BOTH the academic department and the Division of Continuing and International Education
  • Comply with the  Policies Governing Enrollment in Continuing Studies Non-Degree Graduate Status

Students can enroll in a  lifetime maximum of two graduate credit courses *  at UM through the Division of Continuing & International Education (600 - 800 level courses ONLY); however, students are not eligible to enroll in "0" Research Credit Courses. 

*Some departments/programs do not participate in the Non-Degree Graduate Status. Please call 305-284-3889 or email umnondegree@miami.edu before applying to this status.

Each student status in the Division of Continuing & International Education adheres to unique requirement criteria and regulations. Please be sure you apply to the specific status that meets your need, as the status may not be changed for that semester.
